HMP Kennett is latest milestone

Delphi has achieved a new milestone after the award of its 'eleventh' contract to provide prison-based addiction recovery services at HMP Kennett, a Category C Prison near Liverpool.
HMP Kennet has asked Delphi Medical as an extension of the Sefton Community contract, to provide clinical input to the drug and alcohol treatment service there. This comprises a fortnightly clinic seeing patients, liaising with healthcare and Lifeline to provide holistic care to prisoners with dependency problems. HMP Kennet is a resettlement prison and so prisoners can be there for quite short periods of time having been transferred in from other establishments.
Dr John Richmond comments "this contract builds on the successful partnership between Lifeline and Delphi which sees us working together in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, Cheshire and now Merseyside.
Helping patients to achieve successful recovery from addiction is an extremely crucial part of enabling them to successfully reintegrate with society on release. This is a very important contract for us. Not only does it bring the number of prisons where we are now active up to eleven, but it also continues Delphi’s expansion geographically as our reputation for patient care and effectiveness at maintaining abstinence continues to grow.”
The service started in October this year in line with the launch of the Sefton Treatment and Recovery Service.
