Date Posted - 1st November 2013
Colin qualified as a Pharmacist from Liverpool John Moores University in 2000. He spent six years within the community sector working for a large chain chemist.
He left the community sector for the more challenging area of prison pharmacy. A key part to his role within the prison was leading medicine management, policy development and staff training on clinical issues. As a Pharmacist working within a prison, he developed a special interest in mental health and drug / alcohol dependency. Furthering his knowledge and skill set Colin successfully completed his Non-Medical Independent Prescriber course.
Colin joined Delphi in May 2013, as he was keen to become part of a company that has strong core values and a vision for the future with patient care at its centre. The strong pharmacy knowledge he has will enable another dimension of medicine management within Delphi, extending their level of expertise.
Colin's work within the recently awarded ‘Sefton Treatment and Recovery Service' will comprise of being a local link with the pharmacists to promote close working relationships for the benefit of our patients. He will also help develop the knowledge of our staff on the available treatment options and there pharmacological action, allowing patients to be able to make informed treatment choices. As a pharmacist prescriber, he could also be utilised to run clinics.
Outside of work, Colin enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons. He is interested in many sports, in his free time plays golf, and is a keen runner (regularly completing events in both 10k and half marathons).
