We are expanding our service offer through a new partnership to deliver psychosocial services in Eccles and Merseyside.
From April 2022, we will work in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) to support vulnerable children and young people who are living in secure accommodation.
The two facilities, Barton Moss in Eccles and Marydale in Merseyside, provide placements for 10–18-year-olds, primarily to protect and to help stabilise high-risk behaviours, identify and examine reasons for such behaviours, and help young people move on safely to an appropriate setting.
We will be delivering the drug and alcohol service to clients through education, awareness, tailored 1-1s, and group work delivery around health, mental health and wellbeing.
We will be taking over from the previous contract provider at Barton Moss and introducing this as a brand-new service at Marydale after a need was identified for this particular type of support.
We are committed to providing services that deliver emotional, social, and lifelong recovery. In order to achieve this for young people, we commit to working closely with home managers, GMMH and head teachers, to ensure we are successfully meeting the needs of the young people who are being supported.
Claire Illingworth, Head of Prisons and PSI at Delphi Medical, said: “We’re excited to be taking on the new secure children’s homes supporting the young people to build upon their awareness, skills, and support for the next steps in their transition.
“It’s a new environment for us to work in and we will take our prison, community, and young person experiences to this. We look forward to working closely with the young people identifying their individual needs as well as adapting to the needs of current trends and cohorts in the services.”
