Sixteen learners from across Blackpool have successfully completed a Combination Learning training course with Horizon Blackpool, aimed at helping them provide essential support around addiction and substance misuse.
Funded by Blackpool Council and delivered by Acorn Academy, the four-week programme provided an opportunity to learn more about group work facilitation skills, emotional intelligence and addiction awareness.
The group of sixteen included people who had recently completed treatment with Horizon and wanted to support others, as well as trainee volunteers looking to develop their skills and help people within their community.
Horizon provides a wide range of support for all Blackpool residents who are struggling with issues around drugs, alcohol and sexual health.
