The ARC has received £5000 in funding from Equans. The funding will go towards laptops for the digital skills courses that will be delivered for ARC clients and equipment for a studio being built for community podcasts.
The ARC is a community hub in Manchester providing services and support, both in the community and in the criminal justice system, such as training to improve clients’ digital skills.
Equans’ community funding campaign helps community groups in North Manchester to apply for grant funding towards a project, initiative, or the support of volunteers.
Claire Illingworth, Area Operations Manager (Central) at Delphi; ‘We are delighted at the funding support from Equans. The support of digital enhancement at the ARC will allow clients in Manchester to have direct access to technology, enhancing their skills in computer literacy with support.
Moving forward we are looking to support clients to have a voice and access to developing their podcasting skills with support from BadKamra.’
The ARC offers various mental health and recovery-based services for people who have left prison, along with support to access volunteering or employment opportunities. Delphi also operates a similar scheme in Blackpool.
